Common problems
Check the most common causes before repeating an operation or preparing a report.
Guide based on source version 2.0.1-rc.7. Screenshots show the English interface of a prerelease edition; their values illustrate examples, not necessarily defaults. Packages on Downloads may differ: review their release notes and saving options before processing.

The app will not open
Check the system, architecture, and package contents. For Windows portable, extract the complete ZIP and keep the companion files beside Yagua.exe. On Linux, check execution permission, FUSE, and the extraction alternative. Running from source needs its own environment and dependencies; installing packages in another Python does not automatically repair an executable.
See Windows, Linux, and logs. If the user profile cannot write logs, the file may not be created. Its absence does not prove that nothing failed.
A tool or button is missing
Check Settings → Visible modules, apply changes, and wait for the restart. Enlarge the window and scroll panels; scale and width can push a control further down. Compare your version with this guide. This edition has no accessible Settings → Logs tab.
Fewer files appear than I selected
Check the tool’s limit. OCR and Remove Background allow 10; several operations allow 100; Extract Palette and LQIP use one image. Metadata holds up to 100 in a shared list and opens one at a time. Add images appends to that list; new selections replace the current set in other tools.
A file appears in the dialog but fails
An extension filter does not check every codec or internal feature. Open the file in another viewer and test a PNG/JPEG copy. Some tools reject animations or multiple pages to avoid incomplete output. Changing a filename suffix alone does not convert a file.
For AVIF or ICO in Resize/Crop/Canvas, convert to PNG/JPEG first. The selector does not mean that this save path handles those formats correctly.
Processing is slow or controls are disabled
Wait for the active operation and check its status. OCR can load models when you open the tool; Remove Background can download them during processing. Large images and multiple models use memory. Try a smaller batch or image copy. There is no guaranteed processing time or universal cancel button.
Compress does not reduce file size
This can happen with optimized images or formats that do not use quality. If encoding is the same size or larger, Compress may skip output. Check the summary to distinguish saved files, skipped files, and errors. PNG may also lose colors. See Compress.
The photo is stretched, cropped, or has large margins
A size preset forces dimensions and may distort. Crop removes edges from the center. Canvas does not enlarge small images and centers the whole image, including existing empty space. Choose the appropriate operation and test one photo first.
Transparency is missing
JPEG does not support alpha. LQIP and Base64 always produce opaque JPEG; Canvas retains the input format and does not convert it when you choose Transparent. Prepare PNG/WebP and inspect the output in a viewer that displays transparency. White or black drawn by a viewer is not always part of the file.
Remove Background fails or leaves imperfect edges
Check the initial connection, cache, and dependency availability in the package. Model selection and refinement are automatic; there is no manual brush or threshold. Better contrast and framing may help, but transparent objects or subjects similar to the background can need another retouching tool.
OCR makes mistakes or finds no text
Choose the content language, not the interface language. Only Spanish, English, or both are offered. Use a sharp image with sufficiently large letters and without extreme perspective. Columns, handwriting, and complex backgrounds may fail. AVIF may be skipped without support; try a PNG/JPEG copy. Review the text, including numbers and signs.
The EXIF editor will not remove a field or save
An empty field is ignored, not deleted. GPS has a removal checkbox; use Clean batch for general cleaning. Numeric fields need valid values, and GPS requires latitude and longitude together. If no savable value changed, the app may report no changes. Check the filename above the form, checked images, Save… scope, and Saving mode before confirming.
Batch Rename skipped files
A change is skipped if the destination name is already taken. A counter is not added automatically. Results can be partial, and some files may already have their proposed names. Check the folder and reload before repeating. There is no automatic undo.
I cannot copy the complete LQIP/Base64 code
Use Copy code, rather than selecting part of the shortened preview. Export also preserves the complete result. If you cannot verify the clipboard, export TXT or JSON. Changing parameters invalidates the result; generate it again. Choose Data URI or raw Base64 according to the destination’s requirements.
An update is not detected
Check platform and version; RC.4/RC.5 have an older checker. A failed query does not prove that no newer packages exist. Open Releases and compare them manually.
If the problem continues, prepare a minimal example without sensitive data and follow Logs and reports.
