Batches and saving
Learn how to process batches and save results in Yagua. Review folders, filenames and differences between tools before using your originals.
Guide based on source version 2.0.1-rc.7. Screenshots show the English interface of a prerelease edition; their values illustrate examples, not necessarily defaults. Packages on Downloads may differ: review their release notes and saving options before processing.

A practical workflow
- Keep originals in a separate folder.
- Prepare a copy or a small test set.
- Load it in the tool and adjust the options.
- Under Saving, choose Create copies for the test. Run the operation, choose a folder, and review the copy and replacement summary before confirming.
- Wait for the result and check successful and failed file counts.
- Open a few saved files before processing the full batch.
Settings apply to the loaded set. Process a file separately if it needs different settings. Batch time varies with dimensions, format, CPU, and models.
Saving and output filenames
Convert, Compress, the sizing tabs, Remove Background, Watermark, and Metadata offer Create copies and Overwrite originals. Create copies asks for a folder and preserves inputs. Overwrite originals allows replacement when formats match; changing formats creates another file beside the original. Review the copy and replacement counts before accepting.
These examples use Create copies in a folder without conflicts. Operations do not automatically add a tool-specific suffix:
| Operation | Example for foto.jpg |
|---|---|
| Convert to WebP | foto.webp |
| Compress | foto.jpg |
| Resize | foto.jpg |
| Crop | foto.jpg |
| Canvas | foto.jpg |
| Remove Background to PNG | foto.png |
| Watermark | foto.jpg |
| Batch EXIF cleaning | foto.jpg |
Formats may remain or change depending on the operation. An occupied copy destination or protected input path receives an available variant such as foto_1.jpg. The counter identifies a naming conflict, not another input. Always check the actual filename in the summary.
Operations that save differently
- Batch Rename: works in each original’s folder without an output-folder dialog. Occupied target names are skipped, rather than automatically numbered.
- Edit EXIF: Save… lets you choose the open image or checked images; Saving determines whether copies are created or originals replaced.
- Palette, metadata exports, and LQIP / Base64: use a save-file dialog. Check the path and any overwrite warning; do not rely on automatic suffixes for these exports.
- OCR: writes
texto_extraido.txtin your chosen folder, usingtexto_extraido_1.txtand subsequent names if needed.
Partial failures
A batch can produce valid results while other files fail. One bad file does not necessarily undo earlier outputs. Compare the selected count with the summary and inspect the output folder. Logs can help identify the failed input.
Repeating a batch into the same folder can create conflict suffixes. Use a separate folder per test for clear comparisons. Keep previous results until you have checked the new ones.
What is preserved and what changes
Writing a new file preserves the original, but does not guarantee preservation of all metadata, color profiles, or bytes. Conversion, resizing, and cleaning may re-encode the image. Recompressing a lossy result cannot recover lost information.
There is no universal mid-operation cancel button or undo for completed renames and saved edits. Wait for processing to finish and use copies for operations affecting originals.
